SIFAX Group has revealed that it made a donation of N130m as support fund towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
It said in a statement that the Federal Government, through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, would get N70m, Lagos and Ogun state to get N15m and N10m respectively while the Nigerian Ports Authority would get N5m.
Sifax added that the company through its foundation, the Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation, was also committing about N30m as relief funds to support the poor across the 36 states of the federation.
The Group Managing Director, Sifax Group, Adekunle Oyinloye, said the company believed that this donation would help flatten the curve and aid the collective fight against the pandemic.
He said, “We are delighted to be presenting the support funds to both the federal and state governments. As a company, we believe that healthy people will translate to a healthy nation, that is why we are leaving no stone unturned in our support towards the eradication of this pandemic in Nigeria.
“Our foundation, Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation, is also committing funds into making sure that the poor is adequately taken care of.”
Oyinloye commended the Federal Government for its efforts geared towards containing the spread of the virus, saying that the efforts would go a long way in flattening the curve.
