The Managers of the Lagos State Oshodi Transport Interchange- Planet Projects Limited, on Thursday said the Terminal 2 of the facility would be fully operational in February.
The company’s Managing Director, Biodun Otunola, in a statement, said talks were on with stakeholders, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers, for the take-off.
“If things go as planned, Terminal 2 will be fully operational by the end of February,” he added.
He noted that the interchange was making efforts to ensure that passengers had various options, including air-conditioned luxury buses and normal vehicles.
“Those who want premium services, such as riding in air-conditioned, Wi-Fi-enabled buses to their destination will choose their preferences, as well as those who can only afford normal buses,” he added.
Otunola said the interchange would be strict in screening the vehicles that could ply the interchange to ensure the safety of passengers and their satisfaction
The managing director said, “We have to be strict in assessing the vehicles that can use the facility. We don’t want a vehicle to pick people here only to develop mechanical problems on the road.”
The Oshodi Transport Interchange recently announced that over 1.6 million passengers had used the facility to commute since it commenced operations in May 2019.
