The Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has reiterated his position on the ban of commercial and private motorcycles in the state.
According to him, the ban on okada across the state was irrevocably in force, saying people should consider life above business.
The Governor stated this in a statement made available by Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala.
He also suspended some Development Centres’ coordinators assigned to check activities of miscreants at the borders, which had been closed down for over three weeks for not living up to expectation.
The governor raised eyebrows on the attitude of the affected aides in the face of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic in some states of the federation. According to him, they were not doing their duties at the state’s borders.
He, therefore, called on motorcycle operators and residents of the state to accept the ban in good faith.
“Okada operators and people of the state must see life above business,” he said.
