New aviation security instructors have been certified by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority for Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, the operator of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2, Lagos.
The BASL said the certification was part of a larger plan designed to further entrench safety and security awareness and the provision of improved services at the terminal.
A statement by Ayotunde Osowe of the Corporate Communications Department, the BASL, asserted that it had constantly invested in facility upgrade and developed robust staff training programmes as well as sound maintenance culture at the terminal to keep the facility in top shape.
“This has placed the MMA2 in a vantage point as the Yuletide activities are in top gear, with travellers, airport users and other individuals planning to make the season worthwhile,” the firm said.
It also added that in the area of security and quality customer service, it had committed resources to train its workers in a bid to deliver top-notch service to all airport users in line with world best practices.
According to the firm, at a brief ceremony recently where certificates were issued to the newly certified AVSEC instructors, the BASL’s Aviation Security Manager, Mr Olatunbosun Okeowo, described the training programme as a welcome development.
He said it would go a long way to boost the standards already set by the terminal operators, which had received commendation from aviation regulatory bodies.
