The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) is celebrating it’s 20 years as an association.
To mark this celebration, the association mapped out one week celebration of activities. They paid a visit to General Hospital Apapa, Lagos, to see the sick and paying some hospital bills.
The founder of the association, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, also offered scholarships to 33 students to study maritime courses.
In an event marking the milestone, the Chief Executive of the Nigeria Shippers Council, Hassan Bello was represented by Mrs. Celine Ofeora, who is the Deputy Director, Monitoring and Enforcement.
In her speech, she said that they will work with federal government in establishing single window for maritime industry in Nigeria.
She said that the work of single window helps in facilitating trade and also to eradicate all manual processes, which brings about delay and corruption.
According to her, nearly all West African countries have put in place single window except Nigeria. “Establishing a single window is long overdue in the country. The country needs to be automated and do away with manual process’, she said.
Dr Boniface Aniebonam during his speech, encouraged the members of his association to make use of the opportunity created by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.
He however expressed his displeasure over the absence of the Chairman of the Council for the regulation of freight forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) Tsanni Abubakar.
