The Unit Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Surulere, Lagos, Olatunji Oguntoye, has called on motorists to cooperate with the FRSC as it commences enforcement of Speed Limiters on commercial vehicles from February 1.
“To this effect, we have been going around to inform stake holders, transport unions, companies, fleet operators and the likes so as to remind them that this is the last week, they should make use the advantage of this week. He also said that; it is act of magnanimity of the Corps to set aside this week so as to remind them”.
He said that all forms of communications have been used to sensitize country and especially the fleet operators on the importance of installation of speed limiting device.
“Our men are on the road to talk, advising motorists to take good advantage of this period and by next week, by God’s grace, there would be no question like how do I get it, where do I get it and how much is it sold.
Please I want to appeal to members of the public especially fleet operators, commercial operators and companies to take advantage of this thing. Like some companies would say that their vehicles are not commercial vehicles forgetting that any service delivery offices that can use their vehicles to carry out their business is also commercial”.
