The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that it has relocated its corporate headquarters to Abuja, this is in compliance with an earlier directive by the Ministry of Aviation.

FAAN revealed this in a press statement which was made available to Transport Day. The Ministry of Aviation had issued the directive with an ultimatum of 45 days.

It also disclosed that the Managing Director, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, Directors and other critical members of staff of the Authority had since relocated to the new FAAN headquarters in Abuja.

Part of the statement reads, ‘In compliance with the directive of the Federal Ministry of Aviation that all agencies in the sector relocate their corporate headquarters to Abuja, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has moved its corporate headquarters to Abuja.’

‘Already, the Managing Director, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, Directors and other critical members of staff of the Authority had since relocated to the new FAAN headquarters in Abuja.’

Aviation workers had earlier requested for an extension of the duration given by the Federal Government to aviation agencies to relocate their headquarters.

The aviation workers under the umbrella of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAPE), has disclosed that the duration ordered by the government was short and should be extended to about four months.

Officials at the Abuja headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Aviation revealed that the relocation directive involved four of the ministry’s agencies and two key parastatals who have their head offices already in Abuja and Kaduna.
