After running the Yamaha Crux Rev Motorcycle in Nigeria for about 20 months, the much awaited fuel efficient bike has been launched into the Nigerian market by CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria Limited.
Unveiled in Nigeria by the management team led by the Managing Director of CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria Limited, Mr. Boye Ajayi, motorcycle users and other stakeholders, the product was described as a very fuel efficient motorcycle in the Nigerian market. This is because the company says with only one litre of fuel, it covers an average of 72.2 kilometres.
The Managing Director stated that the Yamaha Crux Rev has been developed to suit the African market, taking into consideration the climatic conditions. He also said Yamaha Crux Rev was made after due feedback from end users, dealers and other relevant bodies, even as it is an eco-friendly product.
Explaining the key features of the new product, the company’s Sales Manager, Mr. Enifadhe Abugo, said the motorbike comes with multi-reflector glass lens providing brilliant head light with newly adopted 35w halogen bulb; levers with slits to avoid damage for non-stop operation; anti-damage clop mount flashers and strong and durable front fender, made from high quality PP plastic that retains its shape and resist breakage.
Other features are reinforcement ribs on the inside which improves toughness and shape retention, a newly developed blue-core engine that increases combustion efficiency, cooling efficiency and reduction in power loss.
The Crux Rev also comes with ABS plastic tank cover which combines utility,
knee grip ease and a stylish design; long, wide and flat seat easy to ride for both rider and passenger; large rear carrier rack with greatly increased luggage area; and rear suspension with dual-rate springs for a pleasant ride.
Its board-style tandem footrests allow a much larger degree of freedom in foot placement; offset cylinder for both reduced friction loss and greater compactness; VM carburettor for great response; thin cylinder sleeve for both good heat dissipation and lighter weight; newly designed, lightweight diamond frame with optimum rigidity, and newly developed 17-inch spoke wheels.
Also provided are wide front and rear tyres (tube type): 2.75-17 41p (front); 3.00-17 50p (rear), as well as front/rear inter-changeable 130 mm drum brakes, and easy-to-read analogue instruments with green backlight for night time riding.
The Crux Rev comes with an overall length of 2,020 mm, overall width of 740mm, overall height of 1,045mm, overall curb weight of 95 kilogramme and a displacement of 110cc.
On the unique selling points,  the Sales Manager said “the Yamaha range of products have quite a number of features, attributes and   benefits that differentiate them from other brands of motorcycles in the market, these unique selling points are what make our range of Motorcycles superior to others in its class.
“These include the following:  Japanese technology: all new “blue core” engine. Excellent fuel economy: 72.2km/p/l; chrome plated fender; stronger front engine guard frame: light weight with optimum rigidity; strong rear suspension: adjustable; advanced air cooled engine; good ground clearance: 160mm; and strong, long and comfortable seat (can accommodate 2 to 3 passengers comfortably)”.
On the fuel economy, the company says a rider who works for six days a week, covering 140kilometres a week, saves N144,000 per annum from fuel. Also on engine oil economy, the rider also saves on engine oil, because with the use of YAMALUBE, the rider saves 10% of the oil instead of using one full litre. And the engine oil drain intervals is also longer.
CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria Limited boasts of skilled technical team – production and quality control according to Yamaha standards, and technical team trained by the manufacturer. It also has a strong After-sales network across Nigeria through dealers and local mechanic training.
The company also provides adequate mechanic training, Special Service Tools, Overalls and Service Manuals for repairs, as well as genuine spare parts.
